Congratulations! You just made the most important decision of your life. You’ve committed your life to Jesus Christ. Whether you’ve made this decision for the first time, or you have wandered away from Him and have chosen to return, God has great things in store for you. The Bible clearly says that God will withhold no good thing from those who walk uprightly before him (Ps. 84:11). As you choose to walk out this life of faith with Jesus at the helm, He promises to guide and direct your every step.
You may be asking yourself “What’s Next?” Below we have laid out a few simple steps to help you start out in the right direction.
Read the Bible
I suggest you start reading your Bible every day. The Bible is God’s roadmap for the believer and His primary way of communicating spiritual truth and understanding to us. If you don’t know where to start reading, begin in the book of John followed by the rest of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke).
Pray
Prayer, in its simplest form, is communicating with God. God expects you to pray to Him and when you do, He will speak to you, leading and guiding you in all truth and understanding.
Attend a local church
God never intended you to walk out your commitment to him alone. Find a local church and begin to attend and get involved. You will find a community of people who will love you and help strengthen your faith.
Share your commitment with others
Begin to pray and ask God to use you to share Jesus with those around you. As you do, you will find that God will open up opportunities for you do to so and when he does, take the opportunity and share the Love of Jesus with others.
